Men's Ministry

Warriors for Christ

Ephesians 6: 10 – 12 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

In the world in which we, as men, live, it is very challenging for us to take a stand sometimes, for simply what we profess to believe and how to relate to our environment. The Christian life is simple, but sometimes not easy. We all need help from time to time in our walk; whether it’s physical, spiritual or mental. Realizing that, as Christians, the Holy Spirit resides in us 24/7, it behooves us to act in a way that He would approve of; at home, at work or wherever life may lead us. Sometimes that means being humble and wise enough to accept a helping hand; other times you may be that helping hand. We, as a men’s ministry, want to foster the heart and head reaction to where the Holy Spirit leads you. First in your own family, then your local church, and, as you grow in your fellowship with other Christian men and the Lord, reach out to the community around you. The above verse, Eph. 6:10 – 12 is a command with forceful words… “strong, strength, will, stand firm, world forces, spiritual forces, etc”. Another verse which has meant a lot to me is a promise from God which is awesome if you will stop and comprehend what He is offering to you. However, this verse is so powerful, it comes with a warning on the label. So be careful and don’t apply to your life haphazardly or frivolously. God is Truth, plain and simple, and there is no better place to be than “all in” for Him! James 1: 5 – 8: “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

Welcome to Christ Community Fellowship's Men's Ministry!

The goal of the Men’s Ministry is to have men become engaged in the work and activities of the Body. This goal is pursued via the following strategies:

  • Teaching and Training the men in righteousness so that each may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
  • Encouraging our men to be self-controlled and to obey Christ’s teachings. (Titus 2:6-7)
  • Proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ. (Acts 5:42)
  • Depending on Scripture and the leading of the Holy Spirit to guide us and remind us of Jesus’ teachings and how to apply them in equipping the men of CCF. (John 14:26)
  • Being sensitive to the Holy Spirit, continuing in the teaching of Christ and acting in His timing rather than running ahead on our own. (2 John 9:10)
  • Setting a good example in everything by doing what is good. (Titus 2:7-8)
  • Providing men with a combination of teaching, social opportunities and prayer. (Acts 2:42)

Regarding these strategies, here are some of the processes in which the men of CCF have been engaged:

  • Periodic breakfasts where there have been guest speakers;
  • Periodic breakfasts for “heart checks,” i.e., checking in with each other to see how things are going, the quality of our Walk, sharing of testimonies and prayer;
  • Super Bowl Breakfast Simulcasts with football game reviews and testimonies from the members of the NFL;
  • Annual retreats in partnership with the men of Grace Church;
  • Supporting the women of CCF with their various functions by serving them with equipment setups, food service, security, etc., and…
  • Providing weekly security for the parking lots.

~ Our Leadership Team – The Commanders ~

We wait on God to raise up members for our Leadership Team, thus ensuring that each has a passion for discipleship, and is spiritually gifted for his area of service. Each of us is committed to daily prayer for our church body, for our ministry, and for our women.
